Chris B's Daily Battle: Tools and Triumphs in Recovery

I'm on a journey without like thinking about a destination. I'm always working on myself and I've discovered a lot of things about myself where, even though at this point in my recovery I don't have a lot of cravings and I don't really think about drinking much at all, I still use the tools that I've picked up in recovery for just for everyday life, and that's the you know and I'm not perfect and I'm never going to be, and that's okay.
Meet Chris B, a 47-year-old from Portland, OR, who’s got a story that might just resonate with you. In this episode of the 'Sober as $#@! Podcast', Chris sits down with Brandi to share his journey through recovery. From the daily grind of maintaining sobriety to the emotional highs and lows, Chris opens up about his life and the tools that keep him on track.
He’s a big advocate of SMART Recovery, a program that’s helped him dispute irrational beliefs and stay grounded. But it's not all about the technicalities; Chris also talks about the softer side of recovery—self-love and gratitude. He believes these are crucial for anyone looking to find happiness and peace. Mental health is another big topic here. Chris dives into how acknowledging and addressing mental health struggles can be a game-changer in the recovery process.
Vulnerability and honesty are key themes, reminding us that it’s okay to be a work in progress. Chris’s story is one of resilience and hope, offering inspiration for anyone on their own path to sobriety.
