Freddy Negrete: Ink, Gangs, and the Road to Sobriety
No matter how far down the rabbit hole you go when you make that choice to reach out to god and ask for grace.
Freddy Negrete’s life reads like a Hollywood script, but it's all too real. Growing up in East LA, Freddy was thrust into a world of gangs and drugs from a young age. Orphaned at two, he bounced through foster care and boys' homes, eventually following his parents' footsteps into gang life and addiction. In prison, Freddy discovered his talent for tattooing, becoming a pioneer in black and grey realism.
But the ink couldn't mask his struggles with addiction and the severe health issues that followed. A pivotal moment led him to seek healing, and he has been clean and sober since December 20th, 2006. Now, Freddy uses his experiences to help others escape the dangerous life he once led.
This episode of The SHAIR Recovery Podcast dives deep into Freddy’s journey, highlighting the role of spirituality in his recovery and offering a raw, unfiltered look at the highs and lows of his path to sobriety. If you're seeking a story of resilience and transformation, Freddy’s tale is one you won't want to miss.
