Jordan Wilson: Embracing Surrender to Overcome Addiction

The main goal of my book was to show people that there is hope, right, like it's important that people see people making it outside of addiction, like there is life outside of addiction, because I truly was a hopeless drug addict and I didn't crawl out of addiction, I didn't muscle out of addiction.
Ever wondered how surrendering can be the key to winning a battle? In this episode of 'The Real HopeCast', Jordan Wilson, a 2017 graduate and former staff member of Isaiah House, shares his compelling journey from addiction to recovery. Growing up in Madisonville, Kentucky, Jordan had a tumultuous relationship with faith. Despite his church attendance, he never truly embraced his beliefs until he found himself at rock bottom due to drug addiction.
His story is a raw and honest account of hitting the lowest point, losing everything from his job to his relationships, and realizing he couldn't break free from drugs on his own. This moment of despair led him to surrender his life to God and seek help. Jordan credits the long-term treatment program at Isaiah House for not only helping him recover but also for rebuilding his faith.
His experience at Isaiah House transformed him from a struggling addict into someone who could give back as a staff member, helping others find their way out of addiction. Now, as the Development Director at Friends of Sinners and the author of 'JESUS>DRUGS: THE ONLY WAR WON BY SURRENDER', Jordan continues to spread hope. His book serves as a beacon for those battling addiction, showing that life beyond addiction is possible through surrender and faith.
Throughout the episode, Jordan emphasizes the importance of community and long-term treatment programs in recovery. His story is a testament to the power of surrendering to something greater than oneself. If you're looking for an inspiring tale of redemption and the transformative power of faith and community, this episode is a must-listen.
