Relapse and Recovery: Sarah's Journey of Resilience

I really hope I never have to relapse again, and for me it's very basic tools. I'm an alcoholic because I have all these tools and the nine step promises have come true for me because I put in that hard work and because I looked at my past and because I showed up with honesty, open-mindedness and willingness.
What happens when the road to sobriety is filled with setbacks? In this episode of 'So You Wanna Get Sober', Sarah opens up about her tumultuous journey with relapse and how each stumble has ultimately strengthened her resolve. Growing up in an affluent area didn't shield her from feelings of loneliness and insecurity, which led her to seek comfort in alcohol.
But after hitting rock bottom, she found her way to Alcoholics Anonymous, only to discover that recovery is rarely a straight path. Sarah's story is one of repeated relapses, each followed by a return to the program with renewed determination and deeper self-awareness. With the help of therapy, a supportive sponsor, and a tight-knit sober community, she confronted the issues driving her addiction and found emotional healing.
Now, with a year of sobriety under her belt, Sarah is passionate about sharing her story to inspire others. Tune in to hear about the challenges she faced, the growth she experienced, and the power of vulnerability in her journey to sobriety.
