Patrick's Path: From Crime to Redemption on Recovery Internet Radio
I don't know what it was that I was searching for all my life and never got, because, in comparison to right now, where I'm at in life, to the rest of my life before this, I had the least amount of material things that I've ever had, the least amount of prestige, the least amount of proposition, you know, and I've never been happier in my entire life.
Picture growing up in a tough Italian neighborhood with a cop for a dad who moonlights as a jewel thief. That’s Patrick’s childhood. By sixth grade, school was a distant priority, and by high school, he was already knee-deep in crime. His uncle even bribed his way to graduation with a half-ounce of coke. Fast forward, and Patrick’s life took a darker turn. He landed a no-show job but soon graduated to driving for some serious criminals.
Meth became his next career move, both selling and using, until medical issues threw a wrench in his plans. Rehab in 2013 seemed like a turning point, but relapses and run-ins with the law followed. After 104 days in jail, Patrick finally decided enough was enough. In this gripping episode of Recovery Internet Radio, hosts Rick Atwater and Rob Ryberg sit down with Patrick as he candidly shares his journey from the depths of addiction to the light of sobriety.
He talks about the challenges he faced in early recovery, including dealing with anxiety, anger, and the mistaken belief that he was too special to follow the rules. Patrick's story is one of transformation and finding peace in sobriety. He learned that true happiness doesn't come from material possessions or prestige but from living a sober life. Tune in to hear Patrick’s compelling tale of redemption and discover how he found serenity and happiness in sobriety.
