The expansive why I'm quitting drinking is because, well, I mean, number one is if I continued the way that I was, I wouldn't be, I won't, I won't be alive. You know, I wouldn't be alive anymore. I, my bucket list for that is to see why I'm quitting drinking is to sit and be able to see people love their lives. And for me to be able to love my life and to just have that energy, I guess, is to see that, I guess, to feel emotions, to feel emotions, to be human.
Imagine taking your last drink and embarking on a journey that transforms your entire life. That's exactly what Katie, a 40-year-old from Olympia, Washington, did on February 12, 2023. In this episode of Recovery Elevator, Katie opens up about her struggles with alcohol and the incredible steps she's taken toward recovery. Her story is a powerful reminder of the human spirit's capacity for resilience and change.
Host Paul Churchill also shares his observations on how individuals evolve through their sobriety journeys, noting the visible growth in participants from their annual Costa Rica trips. This episode isn't just about overcoming addiction; it's about finding joy and healing in unexpected places, like through animal therapy. Katie's candid narrative is filled with insights into the importance of therapy, exercise, mindfulness, and community support.
Whether you're on your own path to sobriety or supporting someone who is, Katie's story offers hope and practical advice for anyone looking to transform their life.
