Michele Rickett's Mission: Battling Human Trafficking with Compassion and Courage

One of the most important things that we can do is realize that the things that we have been through in our lives- god has been there and he wants to use those, redeem, those shape us to be able to become the women that he has called us to be.
What would you do if you witnessed the horrors of human trafficking firsthand? Michele Rickett faced this very question when she and her family were missionaries in East Africa during the mid-1980s. The devastating reality of girls being sold into slavery and enduring unimaginable abuse led her to take action. Michele founded She Is Safe, a Christian nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and restoring women and girls from abuse and slavery worldwide.
In this episode of 'The Call with Nancy Sabato', Michele opens up about her journey and the incredible work She Is Safe is doing to combat human trafficking. Michele shares heart-wrenching stories of survivors and emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about human trafficking. She Is Safe focuses on prevention, rescue, and restoration programs that not only save lives but also empower local indigenous women.
These women, with their unique cultural insights and personal experiences, are crucial in the fight against trafficking. Michele believes that God has equipped these women with the skills and courage needed to bring about real change. Throughout the episode, Michele discusses the importance of overcoming shame and finding healing. She encourages listeners to recognize that their past experiences can shape them into the individuals they are meant to be.
Michele's message is particularly timely as January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. She Is Safe's prevention programs aim to break the cycle of poverty and exploitation by feeding girls, sparing them from child marriage, and teaching income-generating skills. Michele's story is one of compassion, courage, and unwavering faith. Her dedication to rescuing and restoring women and girls from the grips of human trafficking is truly inspiring.
Tune in to hear Michele Rickett's powerful testimony and learn how She Is Safe is making a difference in the lives of countless women and girls around the globe.
