Jen’s Story: A Sobriety Journey of Courage and Determination
I think AA and Al-Anon are really helpful with learning how to have boundaries and dealing with people where I didn't know how to do any of that stuff.
Imagine being scared of alcohol because of your father's addiction, only to find yourself slipping into the same trap. That's Jen's story. Despite her initial fear, she started drinking for the effect and quickly found herself on a downward spiral. Jen's journey to sobriety, however, is one of remarkable courage and determination. With ten years of sobriety under her belt, she faced another challenge when prescribed Xanax, which led her back to addiction. But Jen didn't give up.
She found the strength to start over and now inspires others with her story. Through the support of AA and Al-Anon, Jen has learned the importance of setting boundaries and dealing with family dynamics. She also emphasizes the spiritual side of sobriety and taking it one day at a time. Jen’s experience is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible, no matter how many times you have to start over.
