So when we talk about narcissists, as I understand that, we're talking about people with personality disorders. And that is why, you know, someone once joked and says to me, 'Ross, well, you're just a relationship or marriage killer.' And at first I defended myself and I started thinking about it and I thought, I guess I am. If someone comes to me and they're an SLD, that means they're, according to the Human Magnet Syndrome, they're in love with someone with a personality disorder. And should they want to get better, their relationship will fall apart. There's no hope because that person has an incredibly low potential of changing.
Ever wondered why some relationships feel like a constant battle? In this episode of The Self-Love Recovery Podcast, psychotherapist Ross Rosenberg sits down with Terri Cole to unpack the complex dynamics of narcissistic abuse and codependency. Drawing from his own experiences and decades in mental health, Ross introduces his unique approaches to recovery, including the Observe Don't Absorb Technique (ODA) and the Induced Conversation Technique.
He sheds light on the unsettling concept of 'love bombing' and its role in toxic relationships, offering practical advice for those feeling trapped by narcissistic partners. Ross also redefines codependency as Self-Love Deficit Disorder, explaining how this shift can transform one's path to healing. If you're grappling with attachment trauma or seeking to understand the roots of your struggles, this conversation is a treasure trove of insights and actionable steps.
Tune in to learn how to break free from harmful patterns and reclaim your sense of self.
