Lloyd's Road to Recovery: Triumph Over Trauma

My healing journey turned into a bit of spiritual growth as well, I suppose. I've tried a whole range of things which for you know, as a red-blooded Australian male who grows up shooting things and doing burnouts and stuff, yeah, it's really quite bizarre, you know, to go and say now that I do yoga, but it's been obviously very beneficial.
Imagine a life turned upside down by an accident that leaves no visible scars but changes everything. That's the reality Lloyd Polkinghorne faced when a misfiring shotgun injured him in 2013. In this gripping episode of 'Stories of Recovery', Lloyd, a newspaper owner and former farmer from Barham, NSW, opens up about his journey from trauma to triumph. Despite the invisible nature of his injuries, the impact was profound, leading to struggles with PTSD and depression.
Lloyd's resilience and determination to find a way forward are truly inspiring. After a pivotal interview on 'Landline', Lloyd received a call from someone who had experienced similar challenges. This conversation became a turning point, offering him hope and a path to recovery. He explored various treatments, including medication, Botox, and yoga, which not only helped him heal physically but also fostered spiritual growth. This episode is a testament to the power of neuroplasticity and the human spirit.
Whether you're dealing with a brain injury or supporting someone who is, Lloyd's story is a beacon of hope and inspiration.
