Living in Luxury: Jesse's Journey from Addiction to Recovery

Helping others is the foundation stone to our recovery, and a foundation stone is that first stone that's laid and there's no for me anyway, right, I know that there's no better feeling than when I help somebody else. I mean that's what this is about for me, right.
Imagine living in a swanky apartment while grappling with addiction. That’s the paradox Jesse found himself in, and in this episode of Picnic Table Society, he opens up about his unique experience. Hosts Joe and Erin welcome Jesse, who candidly shares the shame and embarrassment of his situation. Despite the plush surroundings, he struggled with holding down a job and managing his health. Yet, amidst these challenges, Jesse discovered a lifeline through helping others.
He believes that 'helping others is the foundation stone to our recovery', and that there's no better feeling than supporting someone else in their journey. Jesse also touches on the importance of finding work that not only pays the bills but also supports your recovery journey. His transformative experience with the Big Book, which he initially resisted, turned out to be a powerful tool in his sobriety. This episode is a heartfelt exploration of finding purpose and hope amid adversity.
Listeners will gain practical tips and insights on overcoming challenges with resilience and the power of community support.
