Kerry's Journey: From Pain to Purpose

For your listeners out there, those that may be struggling, we've been through and there's a lot, lots of us have been through it, and it's okay, and there's nothing wrong with you, it's wrong with that person, and come and talk to us, reach out: yeah, right, because we love you and we're here for you.
Meet Kerry, a man whose life story is a testament to the power of resilience and transformation. In this episode of 'Voices in Recovery', Kerry opens up about his tumultuous past as a second-generation Residential School survivor and a victim of childhood sexual abuse. These early traumas led him down a path of addiction as he sought to numb the pain. But Kerry's story doesn't end in darkness.
After witnessing his mother's own struggles and multiple suicide attempts, Kerry found himself at a crossroads while in jail. He made a life-changing decision to turn his life around. Today, Kerry is not only sober but also a beacon of hope for others facing similar battles. He is actively involved with the Canadian Centre for Male Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and has penned his journey in the book 'Second Chances: The Kerry Gladue Story'.
This episode dives deep into his experiences with addiction, incarceration, and the healing process, offering invaluable insights for anyone grappling with their own recovery journey. Kerry's narrative is a powerful reminder that no matter how deep the wounds, recovery and happiness are attainable. His story encourages us all to seek support, speak out, and find solace in community.
