Tim Chandler on Silent Watch: Shining a Light on Veteran Suicide
I think we just need to continue to raise awareness that it exists, that we have an option in Ashland County through Silent Watch, and my hope would be that, again, this gets more and more commonplace and that more and more vets and first responders and, as you say, even the general public, folks that are struggling- will have access once the insurance companies and whatever they need to get this, you know, approved.
Ever wondered what it takes to support our veterans beyond the battlefield? In this episode of 'Keeping Ashland Healthy', retired Master Sergeant Tim Chandler opens up about his mission to raise awareness of veteran suicide through his initiative, Silent Watch. Hosted by David Ross, this conversation dives into the unique challenges faced by veterans and first responders, especially those grappling with post-traumatic stress.
Tim shares his personal journey with stellate ganglion block treatment, a promising therapy that has made a significant difference in his life and the lives of others. But it's not just about treatments; it's about community support and understanding. Tim emphasizes the critical role that local communities can play in providing the necessary support for veterans and first responders. The Mental Health and Recovery Board is highlighted as a valuable resource, offering guidance and assistance to those in need.
This episode is a heartfelt call to action, urging us all to be more aware and supportive of the heroes among us. Tune in to learn how you can make a difference.
