Jason's Journey: A Mother's Tribute and Path to Healing

It's almost like fake it till I make it right. You know, I was scared, that I was never going to feel joy again.
Dianne's son, Jason, was a bright and ambitious young man with dreams of becoming a pilot. However, life took a tragic turn during his first college semester when a broken elbow led to pain medication and, eventually, a battle with addiction. Jason's story is one of potential and heartbreak, ending with his untimely passing at 34 from an overdose.
In this episode of 'Grieving Overdose Death', Dianne opens up about the emotional rollercoaster of supporting Jason through his addiction and the profound grief that followed his loss. She speaks candidly about the dread of receiving 'the call' and the overwhelming pain that came with it. But Dianne's journey doesn't end in sorrow. She has found meaningful ways to honor Jason's memory, such as painting, prayer, poetry, and encouraging random acts of kindness in his name.
Dianne also became involved with the MISS Foundation, where she found a supportive community to help her navigate her grief. Through her story, Dianne offers a poignant reminder that while the pain of losing a child is raw and relentless, there are ways to find purpose and joy again. Her resilience and dedication to keeping Jason's spirit alive through acts of kindness and support for others are truly inspiring.
