Finding Your Voice: The Impact of Authentic Storytelling

It starts with me, one of the guys that said we're talking about starting in my own community, and he's like- I love this- starting in my own community, and he kept pointing at himself. And that's it, because nobody is ever going to change in my time. My community is not going to change. The schools work, the government. Nothing is going to change in my time and the only thing that I have the ability to control is me.
Ever felt like you're just echoing someone else's words? In this episode of 'The High Cost of Anonymity', Preston Moore shares his journey of finally finding his own voice. Despite years of speaking, training, and coaching, Moore always felt like he was mimicking others. That changed when he gave a talk at a local community group. This time, it felt different – it felt real.
The focus was on the intriguing question: 'Could our family history be influencing what's happening in our homes today?' Moore combined this with ideas on what a mental wellness plan might look like. The result? A powerful discussion that hit home for many attendees. This episode is all about the importance of normalizing mental health and addiction discussions, making therapy and support as common as your morning coffee.
If you've ever felt like you're hiding behind someone else's story, this episode will inspire you to find and share your own. Tune in for a heartfelt conversation on embracing authenticity, fostering community support, and taking the first steps towards meaningful change.
