I believe it happens to everyone in these rooms. When we're done with this, you know, I don't know, I used to think about this a lot. I had a great opportunity in recovery, given to me by the people in alcoholics anonymous, Every Day, Daily, on a basis, and when I was talking about a sponsor, I had a wonderful man who came into my life- and some of you know him- and that man went far beyond, far beyond what a sponsor should do for a man.
Meet Hawaiian Nick, a man whose journey to sobriety began in May 1992 and whose story continues to inspire many. In this episode of Sober Cast, recorded at the 1st Annual Fun in the Sun Day Mother Lode AA Fellowship in Sonora, CA, in August 1996, Nick opens up about his battles with alcoholism and the transformative power of the Alcoholics Anonymous community. Nick's path wasn't easy. He faced numerous challenges, including hospitalization and major surgery.
But through it all, he found hope and support in the people of AA. Their shared experiences and unwavering support played a crucial role in his recovery.
