Elizabeth Bovard Strong: The Power of Accountability in Recovery

The biggest part of the recovery that happens here is if someone is not held accountable then they are not going to change things, that was one of the biggest things that attracted me to Guiding Light.
Imagine a place where accountability is the cornerstone of recovery. That's exactly what you'll find at Guiding Light, a Grand Rapids-based non-profit focused on helping men overcome substance abuse. In this episode of 'Casting Light', board member Elizabeth Bovard Strong sits down with hosts Dan and Debbie to share her insights into why accountability is crucial for lasting recovery.
Elizabeth, who also serves as the Executive Vice President of the Builder's Exchange of Michigan, explains how their no-nonsense approach creates an environment where men can truly change their lives. She highlights the support from Builders Exchange, including a beneficial golf outing, and emphasizes the importance of sustaining donations to keep their mission alive. Elizabeth also touches on how the organization prepares men for construction jobs, providing them with not just recovery, but a path to a brighter future.
Tune in to hear about the transformative power of accountability and the incredible work being done at Guiding Light.
