David Mora's Journey: From Addiction to Authenticity

I think the last time I came to San Antonio was, uh, when I was like um, and I relapsed About A Month after um and and got fired from jobs. And I was like I'm going to go to therapy. Hey, you drink every single night, um, and show up like shit. So it took me like a good like Two Weeks till I was like: okay, I'm actually going to do this, like I'm actually going to give it my all, you know, um, and and try to stay sober.
What happens when you mix humor, heart, and hard truths about addiction? You get an unforgettable episode of 'Talksicology' featuring David Mora. Hosted by Jason Cabello and Joseph Gorordo, this episode brings David, an Alumni Coordinator at Recovery Unplugged, into the spotlight. David opens up about his early years, marked by substance abuse and the hidden struggle of being in the closet. He shares his battles with anxiety and the emotional rollercoaster of coming out as his true self.
But it’s not all heavy; David's infectious smile and lighthearted humor make this conversation as uplifting as it is insightful. The hosts dive into the importance of community in recovery, with David explaining how Recovery Unplugged has been a cornerstone in his journey. He talks about the joy and fulfillment he finds in helping others navigate their paths to sobriety.
