Connie Pacheco: A Journey from the South Bronx to Sobriety
Today, every day is a new day, a new beginning to just practice your recovery again, because what I was recovering from Yesterday is not the same thing that I'm going to be recovering from Today, and so I just think that it just never ends.
Growing up in the gritty streets of the South Bronx, Connie Pacheco faced challenges most of us can only imagine. Born in Puerto Rico and moving to New York City at just five years old, Connie's early life was a whirlwind of unfamiliar surroundings and a sense of disconnection from her biological family. Adopted as a young child, she found herself navigating a world fraught with danger and addiction.
One particularly harrowing experience almost cost her life, caught in the crossfire of rival drug dealers. It was her biological mother who pulled her from the brink, not just saving her physically but setting her on the path to recovery by getting her into a recovery program. Now a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, Connie has turned her life around and helps others do the same through her initiative, Recoveries R US, LLC. In this episode of 'Recovery Matters!
Podcast', Connie shares her incredible story of resilience, the pivotal moments that shaped her journey, and the ongoing commitment to sobriety. Her tale is a testament to the power of second chances and the importance of recovery programs in transforming lives. If you're looking for an inspiring story that underscores the potential for change and the strength of the human spirit, this episode is a must-listen.
