I've been given a second chance of life because of this program, because of the community of AA, which I didn't have a community before this. I'm still a new person in a new town with no friends. And all of a sudden, like, I've got 20 people that care about me. This is what it's all about.
Ever wondered how someone can find joy in the midst of recovery? Nathan's story is a testament to the unexpected twists and turns of sobriety. In this episode of the AA Grapevine's Podcast, Nathan sits down with hosts Sam and Don to share his candid journey from merely surviving to truly thriving in Alcoholics Anonymous. Initially, Nathan found the laughter and fun in AA meetings quite irritating.
But as time went on, he discovered that these moments were crucial to his own healing and happiness. Nathan opens up about starting a new group for young people, emphasizing how service work became his cornerstone for long-term sobriety. He believes that helping others not only kept him sober but also brought a sense of purpose and fulfillment he never anticipated.
The episode also features an engaging segment where Craig poses a thought-provoking question from the 'Ask It Basket', sparking a lively discussion among the hosts. This episode isn't just about one man's journey; it's a celebration of community, support, and the small joys that make a big difference in recovery. Perfect for anyone looking for inspiration, whether you're in recovery yourself or supporting someone who is.
