Championing Human Rights: Davina Ugochukwu's Fight Against Injustice

Be the difference, be the change, support survivors, partner up with Davina, partner up with organizations that fight injustice and make a difference in someone's life, because we cannot help everybody, but everybody can help somebody.
How do you tackle the monumental task of fighting human trafficking and supporting survivors? Davina Ugochukwu, an international human rights attorney, shares her journey and passion in this episode of 'Love&BLoved' with Lena Cebula. Davina has dedicated over a decade to serving the community, with the last five years focused on international human rights law. Her work spans a wide array of critical issues, from supporting special juvenile victims to addressing domestic and sexual violence.
With a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in international human rights law, Davina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. But her mission goes beyond the courtroom. She founded MiCreate, an organization dedicated to protecting the creative works of survivor artists. Through MiCreate, Davina offers business coaching and brand messaging strategy to help survivors gain financial independence and reclaim their sense of purpose.
In this episode, Lena and Davina dive deep into the importance of specialized services for survivors, the intersection of business and human trafficking, and the power of advocacy work. They also discuss the often-overlooked challenges faced by special juvenile victims and the interconnected nature of domestic and sexual violence with human trafficking. The conversation is not just about identifying problems but also about finding solutions and making a tangible difference.
Lena and Davina emphasize the importance of building strong, loving relationships and offer practical advice on how everyone can contribute to this fight. As Lena aptly puts it, 'we cannot help everybody, but everybody can help somebody'. Tune in to be inspired by Davina's unwavering commitment to justice and learn how you can play a part in ending human trafficking.
