There's a whole community of people out there that are willing to love people until they can love themselves. - Brittany, Recovery Uncensored
Brittany's life took a drastic turn when she found herself ensnared by heroin addiction. In this gripping episode of 'Recovery Uncensored', she sits down with Ty Bechel to recount her journey from the depths of despair to nearly 12 years of continuous recovery. Brittany opens up about her early years, moving frequently due to her father's job and feeling out of place wherever she went. Like many teens, she sought acceptance through dating, drinking, and experimenting with drugs.
What started with alcohol soon escalated to cocaine and Benzos, eventually leading her to intravenously use Dilaudid and heroin. To support her addiction, Brittany turned to stripping, navigating the dangerous streets while trying to evade the police. Her story is a raw and honest look at the grip of addiction and the lengths one might go to sustain it.
Despite multiple stints in residential treatment, it wasn't until Brittany embraced a 12-step community that she found the strength to change her life. Now, with almost 12 years of recovery under her belt, she shares her experiences and the crucial role of seeking help and community support. Brittany's story is a powerful reminder that no matter how deep the struggle, there is always hope for recovery.
