The Kiltwalkers: Heartfelt Steps of Resilience and Generosity

The Kiltwalk gives me something you know I need to go. This is a, everyone gets so excited about it and it to us, it fits very well with what we're about, as well as an organization.
Imagine walking miles and miles, not just for exercise, but to make a real difference in people's lives. That's exactly what Kevin and Sally Robinson, along with young Piper and Cosmo, did for the Grassmarket Community Project. In this episode, host Jonny Kinross chats with these inspiring individuals who took on the Kiltwalk challenge to raise crucial funds for the charity. Kevin, despite facing his own health issues, has managed to raise over £10,000 across four years.
Piper and Cosmo, with their mother Joanne, tackled a staggering 27-mile walk and brought in £2,200 in just one event. Their stories are a testament to the power of determination and community spirit. The Grassmarket Community Project isn't just a charity; it's a lifeline for those dealing with homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, addictions, and disabilities. Through seven social enterprises like furniture making and catering, the project provides a sense of purpose and belonging to its members.
The episode delves into how these walks and fundraising efforts go beyond mere charity—they're about creating a family where everyone has something valuable to offer. Jonny's conversation with these remarkable Kiltwalkers reveals not only their incredible fundraising feats but also their deep-rooted commitment to supporting a community that has given them so much. It's an uplifting listen that will leave you feeling inspired and perhaps even motivated to lace up your own walking shoes for a good cause.
