No matter what your issue is, the right answer is to simplify. Pair it down to the bare bones. In my crazy mind, I actually thought that if I got bigger, if I grew my business bigger, if I made more money, that somehow that would solve my problem.
What happens when a prescription for pain spirals into a life of secrecy, shame, and addiction? In this episode of 'Cracking Open with Molly Carroll', Reverend Jeff Grant shares his raw and compelling journey from the depths of opioid dependency to a life dedicated to service and redemption.
After a basketball injury led to a prescription for opioids, Jeff found himself trapped in a cycle of addiction that cost him his law firm, led to a suicide attempt, and resulted in a felony fraud conviction and a federal prison sentence. But Jeff's story doesn't end there. His time in prison became a turning point, awakening his soul and setting him on a path to recovery and spiritual growth.
After his release, Jeff earned a Master of Divinity and co-founded Progressive Prison Ministries, Inc., the first ministry dedicated to supporting individuals navigating the white-collar criminal justice system. Now, with his law license reinstated, Jeff continues to help others rebuild their lives. This episode isn't just about the struggle; it's about finding hope, faith, and purpose beyond addiction.
Whether you're seeking inspiration or looking for a sense of community, Jeff's story offers valuable lessons on resilience and the transformative power of confronting addiction head-on.
