Lotta Dann: From Boozy Housewife to Recovery Advocate

If you feel safe to express how you really are, in whatever forum you're in, and you can safely express how you're feeling at any one time, whether you're on day 1 or day 1000, that is the power, and that's the power of recovery is being willing to make yourself vulnerable, always, constantly, forevermore, because life's going to keep happening.
Lotta Dann once called herself a 'boozy housewife', drinking heavily for nearly twenty years. In 2011, she decided enough was enough and started the anonymous blog 'Mrs. D Is Going Without'. What began as a personal project quickly became a lifeline, guiding her into sobriety and connecting her with a supportive community.
In this episode of the SHE RECOVERS Podcast, Erin chats with Lotta about her journey to recovery and the ongoing struggles she faces, like her battle with flour and sugar. They also touch on how the Covid-19 lockdown has created unique challenges and opportunities for those in recovery. Lotta's candidness about her experiences and the importance of kindness, both to oneself and others, makes this episode a must-listen for anyone navigating their own recovery path.
As Lotta puts it, 'If you feel safe to express how you really are, whether you're on day 1 or day 1000, that's the power of recovery.' Tune in to hear more about Lotta's inspiring journey and the transformative power of vulnerability and community.
