Finding Solace: Katherine and Lisa's Journey Through Grief

It isn't just, people aren't complaining, it's not like that, it's not a complaint session. Those issues, sadly, are still very stigmatized in our society.
Grief is a heavy burden, especially when it comes to losing a child. In this heartfelt episode of 'Dissect & Connect', Katherine Allen and Lisa Evanylo open up about their personal journeys through unimaginable loss. Katherine lost her son, Matt, to suicide, while Lisa's son, Dylan, succumbed to a drug overdose. These two brave women have turned their pain into a mission to help others by starting a support group for bereaved parents.
What began as a local initiative has now reached grieving parents across the country through Zoom meetings. Katherine and Lisa share candid memories of their sons, discuss the stigmas surrounding mental health and addiction, and offer practical advice on coping with grief. They also highlight what not to say to someone who has lost a child, providing valuable insights for those supporting grieving parents.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone navigating the turbulent waters of grief or looking to understand and support those who are.
