David Greer: Blending Business Savvy with Recovery Coaching

Drinking clearly gets in the way, and now, because I feel like that's step work and I shouldn't be charging for it, right. And, and so I'm kind of feeling my way, if it's pure recovery step work, then you know again, I don't, I don't see that I can charge for that against the principles of aa, but my goal is always is to help someone, is to help someone into recovery, right.
Ever wondered how business acumen can enhance recovery journeys? Meet David Greer, a seasoned business coach who's also in long-term recovery. In this episode of Beyond Belief Sobriety, host John M. sits down with David to discuss his unique approach to recovery coaching. David's journey to sobriety began in his mid-30s after years of heavy drinking and the pressures of running a successful business.
He realized that alcohol was hindering both his personal and professional growth, leading him to seek help through AA and coaching. David now combines his business expertise with recovery coaching, helping people set and achieve their recovery goals. He talks about the importance of support and accountability, and how he balances his coaching work with the principles of AA.
One intriguing aspect is David's stance on charging for recovery coaching, seeing it as a form of step work but struggling with the idea of monetizing it. This episode offers a fresh perspective on how recovery coaching can aid in achieving long-term sobriety and success.
