Drew Steckelmann: From Struggles to Beats and Barbering

I didn't really understand that I was doing it wrong. I was like, so fucking mortified that, like all, that persona was like it had just been in total vain, like everyone knew, like, like they, whatever, he doesn't know how to smoke.
Growing up in Indiana, Drew Steckelmann faced the dual challenges of grappling with his sexuality and battling alcoholism. After graduating from college, he packed his bags for Chicago, chasing his dream of becoming a DJ. There, he played a pivotal role in launching the gay hip hop community movement, Banjee Report. Now residing in Los Angeles, Drew is not only studying to become a barber but also working on rekindling his musical ambitions.
In this episode of 'The Drunkalogues', Drew opens up about his journey through addiction and relapse, and how he found his way back to sobriety. He dives into the complexities of open relationships and their impact on his addiction, and shares how he's redefined success to focus on personal growth over material gains. Drew's story is one of perseverance, highlighting the importance of support systems and being present in the moment.
Whether you're looking for inspiration or simply a compelling story, Drew's candid account offers both. Tune in to hear how he's balancing his day-to-day life with his passion for music and his studies.
