John H's Path: From Rejection to Recovery

I got to the point I had eight months of sobriety and I hated everybody in there, 'cause they bugging a shit out of me and told me I'm going to get drunk if I don't see things the way they do or like the big book says, and I'm telling them: take the big book and stick it up your ass, and take your god and stick it up your ass.
John H’s story begins in 1957, when he walked into his first AA meeting as the youngest person in the room. The speaker, a man in a suit lamenting his lost business, seemed worlds apart from John, whose drinking had quickly spiraled out of control. Fast forward to a hospital stay in Japan and an arrest in his pajamas, and you’ll get a glimpse of how chaotic John’s life became.
In this episode of Beyond Belief Sobriety, John H from Orange County shares his raw and unfiltered journey to sobriety with host John S. He talks about the early feelings of rejection and fear that led him to alcohol and drugs, and the rock-bottom moment when his wife left him. John’s candid discussion about his struggles with the concept of a higher power in AA meetings adds a unique layer to his story.
He found solace in agnostic meetings and became actively involved with W.A.F.T. Central. This episode is a heartfelt exploration of John’s path to recovery, filled with honesty and vulnerability. It’s an inspiring listen for anyone grappling with addiction or seeking motivation on their own journey to sobriety.
