Dan's Journey: From Despair to New Beginnings
Love me, I can show love, be loved, fucking all the things, man, you know. Today I could honestly look myself in the mirror and say: I love you, mate.
Imagine being on the brink of death 13 times and still finding the strength to turn your life around. That's Dan Fitz's story. In this episode of 'The Truth About Addiction', host Ron Isherwood sits down with Dan to talk about his incredible journey from heroin addiction to a life of purpose and happiness. Dan's battle with drugs started early, and it only got worse after the tragic loss of his brother.
Each overdose seemed like another nail in the coffin, but somehow, Dan found the will to keep fighting. After seven stints in rehab, he finally got clean and has stayed that way for three years now. Today, Dan is married, living on the Sunshine Coast, and even competed in his first bodybuilding competition. He's also organized the first NA men's camp on the Sunny Coast, proving that recovery is not just about quitting drugs—it's about building a new life.
This episode is a raw, unfiltered look at the highs and lows of addiction and the incredible resilience of the human spirit.
