What happens when the world as you know it suddenly changes overnight? For Runningandyoga, this was her reality when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989. In this episode of the Sobertown Podcast, Viv sits down with Runningandyoga to unravel her incredible story of resilience and transformation. Growing up in East Germany, she faced a life where freedom was a distant dream.
The fall of the Berlin Wall brought newfound opportunities but also upheaval, as her parents divorced and her world turned upside down. Seeking control, she began to obsess over food and weight, a struggle that later evolved into an addiction to alcohol. Despite multiple attempts to moderate her drinking, it wasn't until January 2022 that she decided to embrace sobriety fully. Thanks to the support of the I Am Sober online community, she found the strength to overcome her addiction.
Viv, also known as Sober_iThrive, guides the conversation with empathy and insight, highlighting the crucial role of community in recovery. This episode is a powerful reminder that no matter how tumultuous your past, there's always a path to healing and growth.
