Emily McAllister: From Bulimia to Sober Success and Honest Motherhood
I lost my job, bartending, like bartending at a bar that, like we used to party in after hours I couldn't keep that job because I couldn't show up. I was dodging my landlord because I hadn't paid my rent, and I don't know if I was dodging him or the shadow people, but I was dodging everybody and I threw my stuff in trash bags and put it in a storage unit and showed up at the house I was partying at and just decided I would stay there for a little while.
Emily McAllister's journey is a testament to resilience and transformation. A Boston native now thriving in Southern California, Emily is a writer, photographer, and content creator who has been sober since September 25, 2009. In this episode of 'The Courage to Change: A Recovery Podcast', Emily opens up about her struggles with bulimia, substance abuse, and the challenges of honest motherhood.
