Growing up in Thunder Bay, Chrystal faced numerous challenges, including homelessness. But she found strength and wisdom in her grandfather's teachings about traditional plant medicines and family history. These lessons became the cornerstone of her life's work.
Chrystal now leads Blackbird Medicines, a cultural wellness program dedicated to supporting Indigenous people training to be end-of-life doulas.
