Cheryl M's Story: Finding Hope and Faith Amidst Family Struggles

I realized very early on that faith could be borrowed from somebody who had it when I didn't have it right and hope could be borrowed, and I could continue to show up to be with people who had more of that than I had, and people, people's willingness and generosity, if I were willing to just ask for help.
Cheryl M's journey is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. In this episode of 'Hope for the Family' from The Magdalen House Podcast, Cheryl opens up about the emotional rollercoaster of dealing with her son's alcoholism. She candidly discusses her initial obsession with trying to control his addiction and the toll it took on her own well-being. But Cheryl's story doesn't end in despair.
Through working her own 12-step program and attending Al-Anon meetings, she experienced a profound spiritual awakening that transformed her life. She found solace in a Higher Power and learned the importance of self-care and setting boundaries. Cheryl's tale is not just about coping; it's about thriving and finding hope even in the darkest times. Her experience offers valuable insights for anyone struggling with a loved one's addiction, emphasizing that taking care of oneself is crucial for healing.
Tune in to hear Cheryl's heartfelt story and discover how faith and community can provide a lifeline in the face of addiction.
