The opposite of addiction isn't sobriety or abstinence. That's awesome. So when I was at my old job, it was like, of course, the owners knew, my closest people knew, but I'm like, 700 members don't need to know that I struggle every single day to stay sober. So I just faked it. And no one's like, you know, like nobody backs away from me. Yeah. If you can't be your authentic self emotionally, you're not healthy.
Chelsea Rupp's story is a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit. In this episode of 'Project Recovery', Chelsea sits down with Casey Scott and Dr. Matt Woolley to share her rollercoaster journey through addiction, mental health struggles, and the transformative power of community support. From the highs of running a successful CrossFit gym to the lows of opioid dependency following a Fibromyalgia diagnosis, Chelsea's life has been anything but predictable.
Chelsea opens up about how selling her beloved gym impacted her mental health, pushing her further into the abyss of addiction. Her candid discussion about relapses and the relentless battle to stay sober offers a raw look into the complexities of recovery. What makes Chelsea's story truly inspiring is her discovery of Fit To Recover, a community that provided the structure and support she desperately needed.
Through therapy, Chelsea gained invaluable insights into her addiction, learning how to navigate her struggles with newfound clarity. The episode underscores the importance of finding a recovery program that resonates with you, highlighting how Chelsea's involvement with Fit To Recover became a cornerstone in her journey to sobriety. This episode is a must-listen for anyone seeking hope and practical advice on overcoming addiction.
Chelsea's journey illustrates that with the right support and dedication, recovery is not just a possibility but a reality.
