Jess's Road to Sobriety and Counseling: An Honest Reflection

I owe it all, at least most of it, to my sobriety, because when I was working on my first degree- I'm looking at them now- the degree and the certifications, and I was drunk at least half of the time and I don't know how I passed my classes.
Ever wondered how someone transforms their life from addiction to becoming a certified counselor? Jess from 'SobrieTea with Jess' shares her deeply personal journey in this episode. She opens up about her struggles during her first degree, where she spent half her time drunk, never imagining she could be proud of herself one day. Her story is a testament to the power of sobriety and how it has been a cornerstone of her success.
Jess recounts a pivotal moment when she attended an NA meeting for one of her courses. Despite the negative things she'd heard about NA, she found the experience to be welcoming and inspiring. This meeting was a game-changer for her, reinforcing the importance of support and community in recovery. She also touches on the challenges she faced with sponsorship. Jess had to switch sponsors because her previous one didn't support her taking medication for ADHD.
Fortunately, she found a new sponsor who is both supportive and understanding, highlighting the importance of honesty and finding the right support system. Adding a touch of excitement, Jess talks about her upcoming vendor shop at a coffee bar, where she'll be selling keychains. This venture is a new chapter in her life, filled with hope and anticipation. This episode is not just about Jess's journey; it's a beacon of hope for anyone in recovery.
Whether you're struggling with addiction, supporting someone who is, or just curious about the path to sobriety, Jess's candid reflections offer valuable insights and inspiration.
