Apply that same fearlessness that we had in addiction to sobriety because I can't tell you how much I let fear rule my decision-making in sobriety. It's worth it.
Mike Rossi's story is one of transformation and resilience. Growing up in a small town in North Carolina, Mike faced the strict confines of Catholic school and developed a fear of God that deeply affected him. As he moved on to community college, he turned to alcohol as a way to cope with his internal struggles. At 21, he made a bold move to Los Angeles, diving into the entertainment scene but also deeper into addiction.
Performing at popular venues and even appearing on a Bravo TV show, Mike's life seemed glamorous on the outside but was fraught with personal battles. A pivotal moment came when a friend encouraged him to attend his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Identifying as an alcoholic, Mike made a life-changing commitment to sobriety. Now, as a performer and Outreach Coordinator for Apex Addiction Treatment Center, Mike is igniting conversations about sobriety and sharing his journey openly.
This episode of Rooted Recovery Stories offers a candid look at Mike's experiences, from the highs of performing to the lows of addiction, and the empowering journey of recovery that followed.
