The decision that we all made to put the alcohol down was a choice of love towards ourselves. It wasn't easy because yeah, I kept choosing same lens like how you were saying like I did this weekend like it was a continuous fear of change continue to drink it wasn't loving that's for sure I hated myself those next mornings deep down heck yeah I felt the same yeah shame embarrassment self-loathing yeah wanting something better giving alcohol another chance the following weekend but you just gotta just gotta decide make room for that plan yeah like that plan that Trace was just talking about those are all moving towards a lot making those decisions.
Imagine deciding to quit alcohol and finding that your choice sends ripples through your relationships. That's exactly what the hosts of 'LAF Life' discuss in this episode. Kelly Evans, Tracy Georgievic, and Lindsay Herrick open up about how their decision to live alcohol-free impacted their social circles. They share candid stories of initial resistance from friends and family, who found the change unsettling. But it's not all doom and gloom.
The trio also highlights how their new lifestyle inspired some loved ones to reconsider their own drinking habits, leading to healthier choices all around. Fear of change is a common theme here. The hosts talk about the anxieties that come with altering one's lifestyle so drastically, especially when it feels like you're swimming against the tide. Yet, they emphasize the importance of making these changes with love and compassion, both for yourself and those around you.
They discuss how giving yourself and others the grace to adapt can lead to unexpected but positive transformations. One poignant point made is that while some relationships may falter, others will flourish. The hosts stress that change is a part of growth and that sometimes, letting go of old connections can make way for new, more supportive ones. This episode serves as a heartfelt reminder that embracing change, despite its challenges, can lead to a richer, more fulfilling life.
Whether you're contemplating an alcohol-free lifestyle or already on that journey, this episode offers valuable insights and encouragement. Tune in to hear how Kelly, Tracy, and Lindsay navigate these complex emotional waters, and perhaps find some inspiration for your own path.
