It's interesting that, like I said, we've talked about this a number of times when we've talked about our work. I have been a magnet for mentally ill patients and addicted patients my whole professional life. And I'm good at working with them, generally speaking. But still, there's a sadness there. I think there will always be a sadness there.
Imagine facing the challenges of caring for aging parents while grappling with a past filled with trauma. In this heartfelt episode, sisters Ronni and Jennie open up about their experiences with caregiving, drawing from their personal history of abuse and addiction. Jennie shares her insights from working with patients, while Ronni reflects on her role with her in-laws. They also ponder the possibility of their own parents reaching out for help as they grow older.
Through their candid conversations, Ronni and Jennie offer a blend of empathy and practical advice, shedding light on the emotional complexities that come with caregiving in such circumstances. Their stories are a beacon for anyone navigating similar waters, providing a sense of solidarity and hope.
