Having lost two daughters and two brothers-in-law to cancer, with his son, daughter, and sister being survivors, Dick's battle against this relentless disease is deeply personal. Recently, he himself was diagnosed with cancer, adding another layer to his already arduous journey. Starting at a young age, Dick's life spiraled into the depths of alcoholism and drug use, reaching a point where he had to drink daily just to function.
