Dick Conaboy: Triumph Over Cancer and Addiction

I have, as I said, used innumerable amounts of drugs and alcohol and I'm still here.
Life has thrown more than its fair share of challenges at Dick Conaboy. Having lost two daughters and two brothers-in-law to cancer, with his son, daughter, and sister being survivors, Dick's battle against this relentless disease is deeply personal. Recently, he himself was diagnosed with cancer, adding another layer to his already arduous journey. But this episode isn't just about the shadow of cancer; it's also about Dick's fight against addiction.
Starting at a young age, Dick's life spiraled into the depths of alcoholism and drug use, reaching a point where he had to drink daily just to function. He hit rock bottom before finding a lifeline in the principles of AA and the support of a community that helped him stay sober. Now, as the CEO of Lakeside NEPA Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, Dick dedicates his life to helping others find their path to recovery.
His story is one of resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to service. Through his involvement with the Spirit of Hope Celebration Board of Ambassadors and the American Cancer Society, Dick continues to give back, finding purpose and hope in helping others. Tune in to hear Dick's incredible journey of overcoming addiction and battling cancer, and be inspired by his message of hope and community.
