Secular Sobriety in Focus: Murray J. and Carolyn B. on Ontario AA Roundup

We meet twice a week for The Past Two Years, and so, in being involved in the conference, I thought about: you know, we asked for a tour and they were showing us what we needed to do, but the thing I hadn't seen is the garden behind the facility, and if you're going to talk about recovery or just being at peace and in nature, the garden, I mean it's in the middle of the city.
Picture a gathering where the path to sobriety is free from religious undertones, yet deeply supportive and engaging. That's what the Secular Ontario AA Roundup offers, and in this special episode of 'Beyond Belief Sobriety', Murray J. and Carolyn B. give us a sneak peek into this unique event. Held at the First Unitarian Church in Hamilton, Ontario, the roundup aims to create a welcoming space for those pursuing a secular route to recovery.
Murray and Carolyn, key members of the organizing committee, dive into the diverse agenda planned for attendees. From panels discussing recovery and service to sessions focused on physical health, the event promises a holistic approach to sobriety. You'll also hear about personal introductions and book sales from authors who have explored secular recovery in their writings. What sets this roundup apart is its inclusive atmosphere.
Whether you're new to sobriety or have been on this journey for years, you'll find a community ready to support you. Murray and Carolyn also touch on how the Twelve Steps are interpreted through a secular lens, making the program accessible to everyone, regardless of their belief system. And let's not forget the venue itself—a beautiful church with a peaceful garden right in the heart of the city.
It's not just about recovery; it's about finding serenity and community in a space that respects your individual journey. So, if you're curious about how a secular approach can enrich your path to sobriety, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in to hear more about what makes the Secular Ontario AA Roundup a standout event for anyone looking to reclaim their life without traditional religious frameworks.
