I think often what we do in AA is this combination of self-examination, meditation, or slash contemplation. If you look at how Emmett Fox talks about the three approaches to God, the directions in the book almost fit his contemplation description more than the meditation description, but whatever you want to call it, the directions in here, if I follow them, they're designed to work with the self-examination. They're connected.
Ever wondered how aligning with a higher power can transform your recovery journey? Bob D. dives deep into this very topic in his workshop at Camp Alta, CA. This episode of Mad Dog Recovery is part five of a seven-part series where Bob unpacks the profound significance of Step 11 in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). He opens up about his early misunderstandings and self-centered motives, sharing how his perspective shifted over time to embrace a more spiritual approach.
Bob's raw honesty and relatable anecdotes make his story compelling and accessible, offering listeners a beacon of hope and a roadmap for their own recovery. Whether you're new to AA or have been on this path for years, Bob's reflections on self-examination, meditation, and spiritual growth provide valuable insights and practical advice. Tune in to discover how aligning with a higher power can create an unshakable foundation for a meaningful, recovery-centered life.
