Beyond Blame: Guiding Men Towards Healthier Relationships
We try to create that environment of, you know, whatever's happened. We're accepting of you. There's not a lot of us teaching anyone anything, and Josh and I do share things about our own relationships and things that we're struggling with to some degree too, and I think a lot of the themes are just so relatable to anyone.
What happens when men are given the tools to change their abusive behaviors and build healthier relationships? Co-facilitators Josh Drummond and Alex Schiebel dive into the Beyond Blame program, a transformative initiative by the Nanaimo Family Life Association. This free program is designed to help men move past harmful behaviors and foster positive, respectful relationships. Josh and Alex discuss the program's structure, its impact on participants, and how it supports accountability.
Running from April to June, Beyond Blame allows men to participate multiple times, ensuring they have ample opportunity to internalize the lessons and make lasting changes. Funded by government grants, this community project by the Vancouver Island Mental Health Society is a beacon of hope for those seeking personal growth and healthier connections. Tune in to hear real stories of transformation and learn about the themes that make this program so relatable and effective.
