Austin Hill's Path: From Faith Crisis to Addiction Recovery Advocate

It was Jesus's grace in people's lives like getting to know people who were living outside, getting to know the women that worked Parsons avenue, just because of the work that was happening at the rescue mission we did. There was free lunch, dental clinic, Vision Clinic, there was workforce development, like programming there. There was a lot of volunteer opportunities. So bring a lot of people from churches who cared deeply about the suffering would come in, and then it was my job to keep them busy and that they were doing something productive and not hurting things.
What happens when a crisis of faith leads to a newfound purpose? In this episode of 'Relational Recovery', co-host Wes Thompson sits down with Austin Hill for the second part of his enlightening interview. Austin takes us through his transformative journey from questioning his beliefs to becoming a beacon of hope for those battling addiction.
He recounts his time serving the homeless in the inner city and working at a rescue mission, where he discovered the powerful intersection of Christian spirituality and psychology in aiding recovery. Austin's story isn't just about overcoming personal struggles; it's about finding meaning in helping others. He shares how integrating faith and psychological principles has shaped his approach to behavior change and community support.
Whether you're on your own recovery path or supporting someone who is, this episode offers a heartfelt narrative that underscores the importance of compassion, purpose, and community in overcoming life's challenges. Tune in to hear Austin's inspiring journey and learn how you can make a difference in your own life and the lives of others.
