Mark's Escape: Healing from a Life of Anger and Abuse

I wanted mostly to be left alone and why I went to Al-Anon and why I go so often. For like Two Years and I worked the steps, and I think it's because, up to about 30s past my mid -30s, all I wanted to do and all I did do is live in a room and not much else except to quickly make a living and get back to my room.
Ever wondered what it's like to grow up in a household where rage is the norm? Meet Mark, whose childhood was shaped by his father's uncontrollable anger. Despite not coming from a family of drinkers, Mark's home life was anything but healthy. His father, a 'rage-aholic', often directed his fury at Mark, leading to frequent confrontations and even physical abuse. This hostile environment left Mark grappling with depression, anxiety, and social isolation as he grew older.
Initially resistant to attending Al-Anon meetings, Mark eventually realized that his therapy sessions were guiding him through the same principles. With the support of Al-Anon and therapy, Mark worked through the 12 steps, finding self-acceptance and learning to build healthy relationships. This episode of Steppin' Out Radio offers a raw and inspiring look at how Mark transformed his life from one of anger and trauma to one of peace and self-compassion.
