Sang's Journey: From Addiction to Recovery and Beyond

I think probably the easiest complete psychotic breakdown I had was the ambulance got called and the ambulance attendants came and they sat down across the street from me and they just sat down and they started talking to one another and they were watching me out of their corner of the eye and I knew that if I ran they would tackle me and they were probably going to call the police.
Ever wondered what it’s like to walk the rocky road of addiction and come out the other side? In this episode of 'Addicts Anonymous', Sang opens up about her tumultuous journey through addiction and recovery. Her story begins with teenage experimentation, from smoking cigarettes to dabbling in marijuana, all in a bid to fit in. But what started as a quest for acceptance soon spiraled into a full-blown addiction, leading her down darker paths, including alcohol and heroin use.
Sang's tale is not just about substances; it’s about the allure of the rave scene where she sought status and exclusivity. She believed that being at the top of this world would bring her happiness, but it only led to more chaos. Her addiction culminated in a psychotic breakdown, landing her in the hospital and highlighting the severe mental toll of her lifestyle. One of the most striking parts of Sang's story is her recovery.
With the unwavering support of her family and community, she began to rebuild her life. She shares candidly about overcoming toxic relationships and establishing healthy boundaries, crucial steps in her healing process. Sang’s journey underscores the importance of community support and the relentless effort required to stay on the path of recovery. Tune in to hear Sang's raw and inspiring account. Her story is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible, no matter how deep the struggle.
Whether you’re battling addiction yourself or supporting someone who is, Sang’s experiences offer hope and insight into the lifelong journey of recovery.
