Our goal, we're writing a paper right now on no delirium by 2030. All right. So we are trying to do that. I don't think it's actually ever possible to completely eliminate it, but I absolutely think it's possible to do a better job and to get these numbers down. As I told you, when we first started monitoring delirium, the rate stayed right at 70 to 80% until we finally got 2015, we cast a hump, got implementation data from many, many ICUs, and the numbers were down at 40%. For the first time, we ever were able to get it down.
Imagine waking up in a hospital, confused and disoriented, with no memory of how you got there. That's ICU delirium, a condition many patients face during their stay in intensive care. In this eye-opening episode of 'ICU Life and Recovery', host Mark Hudson sits down with Dr. Wes Ely, a trailblazer in critical care medicine, to unpack the complexities of this phenomenon. Dr.
Ely, known for his pioneering work on the CAM ICU tool and the A2F bundle, shares his groundbreaking research aimed at reducing delirium rates and improving patient outcomes.
