I'm 20 years old and I was actually okay with the fact that I'm about to die. And knowing that I had that sense of peace the night before scared me and I didn't know what to do. You know, because I wasn't high. I wasn't at equilibrium. And I didn't know where to go. I didn't know who to turn to.
Dean Kozora's life has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but his story is one of incredible resilience and transformation. Growing up with parents who were both in recovery, Dean's exposure to addiction began early. When his parents relapsed during his teenage years, it set off a chain of events that led him down a dark path. By the time he was 16, Dean was using pills to escape his emotional pain.
In 2014, after losing his mother to her addiction, Dean hit rock bottom and attempted to take his own life. Miraculously, he survived. Just two months later, he decided to turn his life around and began his journey to sobriety. Now, nine years clean, Dean is happily married and has just welcomed his first child into the world. He manages multiple sales teams and has built a successful career, helping others grow as leaders within their organizations.
