Tim Davis: From Rock Bottom to Running Triumphs
These And A Half Years have been like um, like they say you know, if you, you start working the steps, the promises come true and you end up living a life beyond your wildest wildest dreams.
Imagine hitting rock bottom and then rising to unimaginable heights. That's the story of Tim Davis, a recovering addict and alcoholic who has now been sober for over 13 years. In this episode of 'Nowhere To Go But Up', host Sean Dustin sits down with Tim to discuss his incredible journey from addiction to becoming an ultra marathoner and Ironman triathlete. Tim's early life was marked by tragedy when he lost his father in an accident.
Struggling with the pain, he turned to drugs and alcohol, leading to a cycle of addiction and rehab stints. However, after reaching his lowest point, Tim decided it was time for a change. He got sober in 2007 and began channeling his energy into running. What started as a way to cope with anxiety soon turned into a passion. Tim has since completed 12 Ironman triathlons, over 50 ultramarathons, and seven 100-mile endurance runs.
He's also a high school science teacher and coach, and he recently authored a book titled 'TRIPOLAR: The Story of a Bipolar Triathlete'. In this episode, Tim shares how running helped him overcome his struggles and find a new purpose in life. His story is a testament to the power of determination, hard work, and the importance of a strong support system.
If you're looking for inspiration or know someone who is battling addiction, Tim's journey offers hope and proof that recovery is possible.
