Susan Miller's First Year: Overcoming Sugar, Flour, and Alcohol Addiction

I just would encourage anyone who is in despair, thinking that they'll just never get better, that there are especially women who are in their 40s, 50s, even 60s, that don't understand why they couldn't get past that, because eating disorders are typically in younger women, and I was in my 40s And 50s, and so once I learned that wasn't my problem, I have hope.
How does one navigate a year without sugar, flour, and alcohol? Susan Miller, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, decided to embark on this challenging journey in March 2020. In this episode of 'Unsweetened Sio', Susan sits down with host Siobhan Huggins to reflect on her first year of sobriety from these substances. Despite initial setbacks and the added strain of a global pandemic, Susan found her footing on June 1st and hasn't looked back since.
She opens up about her struggles, the victories that kept her going, and the profound changes in her body and mind. Susan also dives into the importance of diet in boosting immunity and its role in addiction recovery. She highlights the difference between addiction and eating disorders, urging those struggling to seek appropriate help. Her story is a beacon of hope for anyone facing similar battles, proving that it's possible to reclaim your life even in the toughest of times.
Whether you're dealing with addiction yourself or supporting someone who is, Susan's journey offers valuable insights and inspiration.
